Economic Nutrition - Business Certification Program
CF Sunrise and SEDA, in partnership with Shorefast, is bringing the Economic Nutrition™ Certification Program to Southeast Saskatchewan—one of the first regional cohorts in Canada.
This is your opportunity to gain a clear, credible understanding of how your organization’s spending impacts your community—and to use that insight to make stronger, more strategic decisions.

Start Your Side Hustle: Get Going, Get Funded!
Are you an aspiring entrepreneur with a business idea, but need a little boost to bring it to life? The Side Hustle Program is here to help you turn your idea into a reality - step by step.
Designed for motivated individuals in the Community Futures Sunrise region, this program provides a guided experience through six practical modules to help you build and launch your business. Best of all? Once you complete the program and submit proof of your business-related expenses, you’ll be eligible to receive $250 in non-repayable funding.
Non-Repayable Funding
Participants who complete the full program and provide proof of business-related expenses are eligible for:
- $250 in non-repayable funding to support their business startup
Eligible expenses may include:
- Marketing & social media ads
- Website or e-commerce setup
- Business registration or licensing
- Supplies, tools, or materials
- Training or courses
- Branding or design support
- Funding cannot be used for multi-level marketing, direct sales, or to purchase an existing business.
What You'll Learn
The program includes six self-guided, interactive modules using Google Forms:
- The Set-Up – Registering your business & legal basics
- Your Ideal Customer – Identifying your market & building customer profiles
- Brand Fun – Colors, fonts, taglines, and logo creation
- Cash & Flow – Budgeting, startup costs, and pricing
- Point of Sale – Setting up payments, websites, and banking
- Be Strategic – Creating your pitch and building partnerships
Each module is beginner-friendly, engaging, and designed to get your business off the ground.
Who Can Apply?

- Indigenous entrepreneurs
- Individuals with disabilities
- Newcomers to Canada
- Anyone with a great side hustle idea!
To be eligible, you must:
- Reside within the Community Futures Sunrise region
- Have a business idea you're ready to explore
- Complete all six modules
- Submit proof of business-related expenses

Free HR Coaching
CF Sunrise has partnered with Hire for Talent to offer this free, time limited opportunity to local employers.
Hire for Talent has launched a new service for employers, offering up to three free one-on-one HR coaching sessions with an HR expert (valued at $250 per session). These sessions can help employers navigate workplace situations such as responding to workplace conflict or behavioral changes, managing team dynamics during periods of change, having difficult conversations with employees about mental health, and more.

Helping Rural Municipalities and Communities Build a Strong Online Presence...Simply & Affordably
The Rural Community Website Project helps villages, towns, and municipalities build modern, professional websites—without high costs or technical stress. Launched by Community Futures Sunrise in partnership with Digital Success Training, this program was created to give communities an affordable, easy-to-manage online presence.
