Ron Robichaud coming to SK to show local business owners how to weather the economic downturn. With career experiences that span over thirty years, Ron Robichaud has worked in diverse industries: manufacturing operations, finance, small business management, community development, the service sector and municipal government.

Ron holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Université de Moncton and is an accomplished and passionate educator. He has been an adjunct Professor both at Acadia University and Université Sainte-Anne where he taught classes in Small Business Management and Economics. His work in outreach community development departments in both universities led to world-wide recognition in community economic development.

Nail the Numbers, Community Futures (CF) Sunrise and Affinity Credit Union are excited to announce they have partnered to bring Ron Robichaud, one of Canada’s leading financial turn-around experts to Estevan to facilitate a highly interactive bootcamp for local business owners on April 21 in Estevan, SK.

For owners in the energy sector, the last year has brewed a perfect storm of woes. Some businesses are reporting sharp declines in sales, prompting them to lay off workers, cancel growth plans, and revise revenue projections downward.

The Bootcamp, “Weathering the Storm”, provides owners with a welcomed shift in perspective. Using their own financial data, Robichaud demonstrates how to objectively analyze the numbers to respond to economic downturns, create sustainable business models, and helps them turn negative profit lines into upward trajectories.

“We want to remind owners that positive trends can emerge from downturns, as businesses get leaner and fitter,” says Taunya Woods Richardson, campaign creator and chair of Nail the Numbers. “While they may currently be struggling, with Robichaud’s guidance, they’ll not only find a way to survive, but inevitably emerge stronger and smarter.”

“We’ve heard from business owners that they are looking for ways to increase sales and manage their finances during this turbulent time. In answer to that request, CF Sunrise is happy to work with the Affinity Credit Union and Nail the Numbers to bring this financial strategy bootcamp to Estevan,” comments Verna O’Neill, general manager of CF sunrise.

“At Affinity, we work with our business members to provide them with the tools they need to succeed over the long term – both in the good and challenging times,” says Lori Naka, Affinity Credit Union, Branch Manager, Estevan. “A prosperous business improves our local economy, creates jobs, provides essential services and ensures local sustainability. By partnering with Nail the Numbers and CF Sunrise, we’re helping business owners achieve their goals, whatever they may be, because by working together we can achieve more.”
