As a business owner or manager, one of your biggest responsibilities is to your employees. It's important to know what your rights and obligations are to your employees under the Saskatchewan Employment Act. Join Community Futures (CF) Sunrise, the Estevan Chamber of Commerce and Southeast College on June 16, 2015 for a closer look at employment standards in Saskatchewan.
"Knowing what your rights and obligations are as an employer is so important to successfully running a business. We've arranged for Glen Brooman, an Educational Consultant with the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety to come in and share his knowledge. He has 30 years of experience with the Saskatchewan Employment Act so he certainly knows his stuff," comments Verna O'Neill, General Manager of CF Sunrise.
Session topics will include overtime hours and pay, modified work arrangements, employment leave, layoffs and terminations. "Many business owners have questions about these topics. And because the rules and regulations periodically change, it's important to keep up-to-date on Employment Standards. The Estevan Chamber is please to bring this learning opportunity to the business community," says Rebecca Westling, Marketing and Events Coordinator with the Estevan Chamber of Commerce.
The Saskatchewan Employment Standards Workshop will take place on June 16th from 1pm to 4pm at the Saskatchewan Energy Training Institute. Registration is required, so please call the Estevan Chamber of Commerce to attend: 306.634.2828.
