What do you get when you mix 60 young, energetic kids with lemon, sugar and a desire to learn all about business? A fantastic day of entrepreneurship education, using the classic 'lemonade stand' as the basis for learning!
Facilitated by CF Sunrise General Manager, Verna O'Neill, the entrepreneurship sessions at St. Olivier School in Radville were structured to engage students and make a lasting impact. "There were approximately 60 St. Olivier students that attended the CF Sunrise Biz Session on May 14th. Learning about business can be a lot of fun, and we wanted to show the students that they have many of the basic business concepts already in their back pocket. By providing a hands-on, practical method of experiencing a micro-business, the students learned by doing," comments O'Neill.
Many business concepts were discussed - pricing, promotion, supplies, production and profit. At the end of the session, each student was rewarded with a glass of homemade lemonade.
"CF Sunrise is a great resource for entrepreneurs of any age. With business loan, advice and support for new or expanding companies, CF Sunrise strives to be a one-stop business service centre in the southeast.
