Join the Estevan Chamber of Commerce and Sunrise Community Futures in a workshop to learn about Governance Training on April 28th from 9am – 4pm. This training is geared toward non-profit organizations and organizations that are run by a Board of Directors.

Her Masters' Thesis was on the topic of non-profit leadership and governance. Dawn has experience in numerous leadership and strategic roles in the non-profit sector and in government. She currently works as the Manager of Governance and Strategy at the City of Regina. Prior to that, she served for six years as Executive Director of the Culture and Heritage Division for the Government of Saskatchewan.
"Dawn will help the non-profit and Board of Director run organizations in our community learn about governance basics, how to recruit and retain board members, the Saskatchewan Non-Profit Corporations Act and its implications as well as non-profit organizations economic and social impacts to our community" said Rebecca Westling, Marketing and Events Coordinator of the Estevan Chamber of Commerce.
Board development training fills a need in the region, according to Verna O'Neill of Sunrise Community Futures. "We have amazing service clubs, committees and non-profit organizations in southeast Saskatchewan. Volunteerism and supporting community based organizations is a big part of what makes our area such a great place to live and work. This Board Governance workshop will provide resources and tools to assist volunteers when leading non-profit organizations. We're looking forward to all the information that this session will provide."
Registration is $100.00 per person with lunch, coffee and snacks included. This workshop will be held in the Fireside Room of the Days Inn in Estevan. Please contact Rebecca Westling at 306-637-2190 or email rebecca@estevanchamber.ca to register or for more information.
