YouthBiz is back and students in southeast Saskatchewan are gearing up to learn all about entrepreneurship!
"This is the 11th year that Community Futures (CF) Sunrise has offered the YouthBiz program to young people in our region. The youth contest provides an easy way for youth to experience what it may be like to run a microbusiness, and learn what it takes to start up a company," comments Verna O'Neill, general manager of CF Sunrise.
To participate in YouthBiz, students come up with a business idea, write about it following the YouthBiz Guide, and enter the contest on/before the deadline of November 16 at 4pm.
"I've been to many schools in the region already this fall, talking about business ownership and encouraging students to consider small business as an option in the future, or even now! These students have so many creative ideas and it's been fantastic to work with teachers to promote entrepreneurship and YouthBiz," says O'Neill.
