The town of Maple Creek has done alot of work on the Heritage Street. The last couple of years, the town has participated in the Communities in Bloom program as well as our Community Beautification Program. With the moneys they have won, they have updated garbage cans and benches on main street. They put in a community garden, planted flowers along the streets, built a pergola in the town square and this year is working on getting a fence put up. Signs were made and put up showcasing the Heritage Street businesses as well. The town has spent alot of volunteer hours cleaning up and beautifying the main street area.
The results are something to be proud of. The community has come together as a whole to make it better and it shows!!
Community Futures Southwest gave $500.00 to this year's part of the project, to build the fence. The fence is ongoing right now, and we look forward to seeing the finished work. We will be showcasing it with photos once it's complete.
Last year, they redid the Sydney School playground and we were a part of that as well. Here is a picture of the work done.
