In the fall of 2022, Community Futures (CF) Midsask embarked on a bold, new business training program to help the region’s destination businesses look at their marketing in a whole new and exciting light. It received raved reviews from participating business owners so CF Midsask is bringing it back to the area in spring 2023!  Uncovering a businesses’ uniqueness and boosting a company’s marketing efforts . . . that’s the promise of the Destination Creation course.  The course will be led by a certified Destination facilitator, and held virtually to accommodate the busy schedules of entrepreneurs in the region.

“With a mission to provide business and economic development supports in central Saskatchewan, CF Midsask found a great fit for the Destination Creation course in our region.  Traditionally, I think our clients see us as business lenders and seek our advice when they start, expand or even buy into a business. But we do a lot more for communities and businesses. This Destination Creation training is just one of the many services we provide in the Midsask region of Saskatchewan,” comments Lilah McIvor, CF Midsask General Manager.  “As we see changes to our economy and our businesses pivoting to meet customer needs, they’ve commented that creative marketing initiatives and expanding their market reach are big keys to success.  Tourism and collaborative marketing are definitely part of the equation, and providing support to regional destination locations and businesses is crucial.  This Destination Creation course helps our destination business sector to uncover their uniqueness, focus on what makes them so special and one-of-a-kind, and market their uniqueness to gain new customers and increase profits!”

Past participants of the Destination Creation course agree!  Hannah Hannah, owner of The High Maintenance Hippie in Warman, Saskatchewan comments “One of the main things that I learned while taking (this) course was positioning my business as a destination, with a bonus that I got to meet other like-minded entrepreneurs – I loved collaborating with them in an intimate network.”

CF Midsask’s is offering TWO Destination Creation courses, starting the end of March 2023.  Offered on either Tuesday afternoon or Thursday morning, the course runs for 6 weeks (2.5 hours/week).  The registration fee is $50/person, and space is limited.  Register at https://cfmidsask.eventbrite.com/
