Winners of the P2C – Silver Spades Entrepreneurship Awards Announced

On Friday June 28th, the P2C - Silver Spades Entrepreneurship Awards were held in Regina to celebrate successful Saskatchewan Entrepreneurs.

Regina Regional Opportunities Commission (RROC), Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority (SREDA, and the Saskatchewan Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (SYPE) held the event to recognize entrepreneurial successes and provide entrepreneurs the opportunity to network with other like-minded individuals, industry professionals and leaders in the business community.

The three awards presented were the Young Professional of the Year, Progress2Capital Grand Prize Winner, and the VOLTA Award.

The first award handed out was for the Young Professional of the Year which goes to an entrepreneur that displays innovation and community spirit. This year's winner was Shawn Hazen, President of Haztech.

The second award announced the Progress2Capital (P2C) Grand Prize Winner. P2C is a business plan competition where contestants work with mentors and attend workshops in order to perfect their business. The grand prize included cash and in-kind services and the award went to BitStrata Systems Inc.

The final award of the evening was the VOLTA Award. Sponsored by Information Services Corporation, this award was a people's choice award where the general public could vote for the province's top entrepreneur. This award was presented to Kendal Netmaker of Neechie Gear.
